Just wondering what the crowds are usually like the week of November 18th (the week before Thanksgiving week)? Are waits for rides generally pretty long? We have a trip planned that week and I'm hoping I scheduled my fast passes accordingly.

    Hi Courtney!

Oh what a joy to spend holiday season at Disney World! For my family, the majority of our Disney vacation experiences are typically around our favorite holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Seeing the resort hotels and theme parks come to life with its stunningly themed holiday decorations immerses you in the overall spirit of what that holiday is all about. Thanksgiving is no exception! :-)

We've visited Disney World a number of times the week before Thanksgiving and I always say the week of the holiday, as well as its bookend weeks (the week before and the week after) typically brings significantly larger crowds. I can say from a people-traffic standpoint you certainly made a wise choice going the week before, as the week of Thanksgiving has reached near capacity in some years, as most schools in the U.S. are off the week of Thanksgiving. So by comparison, the week before will be an easier experience for you and your family than the week of Thanksgiving. The best November experiences, from a lower crowds perspective, is likely the first two weeks in November.

Theme park attraction wait times vary significantly, so it's difficult to provide an exact expectation of how long you'd expect to wait in line. My best recommendation is if you purchased a Disney Vacation package, then I highly encourage using FastPass+ to reserve as many attractions as you can before your trip. It sounds as if you've done this, so excellent job securing those times before you arrive! I should also note that once you've used your first three FastPass+ selections, you're entitled to reserve additional attractions if there's any availability. I strongly encourage getting the My Disney Experience mobile app on your smart phone. This will help see wait times in real time for each attraction while in the park, as well as allow you to make on-the-fly FastPass selections, or changing one's you've already secured.

May you have the time of your life at Disney!
