Hi Lori,
Thanks for bringing your special
Walt Disney World Resort question to us here at planDisney!
You are going to have a wonderful summertime visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. As a Make a Wish Guest, you will need to check with your Make a Wish coordinator regarding specifics about your visit. Your coordinator should be able to confirm everything included and other details to share with you, such as navigating the
Virtual Queue attractions.
You may also want to ask your coordinator about the
Disability Access Service (DAS), which helps Guests, who find waiting in conventional queues a challenge due to a medical condition, to have a more magical vacation. While DAS doesn’t provide immediate access to attractions, it allows Guests to request a return time comparable to the current standby wait for an attraction.
Determining if DAS is the best accommodation for Guests is handled on a case-by-case basis. To determine if your Make a Wish Guest qualifies for DAS before your vacation, you must
pre-register for a live video chat with a Cast Member. This can be done on the Walt Disney World website as early as 30 days but at least 2 days prior to the park visit.
To pre-register for a live chat, simply go to the
Registering for Disability Access Service page. Be sure to read the information as you scroll down the page to find “Ready to Chat with a Cast Member?” You will need to read and agree to the Terms and Conditions by selecting the blue Terms and Conditions button. Once you have completed that step, you will return to the previous page and will see that the “Request Live Video Chat” button will now be blue. Just click there and you will enter the queue for the chat with a Cast Member.
Please be aware that the Guest who is requesting DAS will need to be present on the chat. And of course, make sure you have your video and audio ready to go so you will be on your way with the chat as soon as a Cast Member is available.
Now, if DAS is right for your situation, you will be offered the opportunity to make
DAS Advance selections before your visit, which is a helpful way to begin planning. During the video chat, the Cast Member will help you make these plans, so be sure to download the
My Disney Experience app prior to registering for the chat. You may make more plans on the day of your visit in the My Disney Experience app.
Following Walt Disney’s vision to create welcoming places for all Guests, Walt Disney World Resort offers a variety of
special services for Guests that I encourage you to check out as well.
Lori, whether or not DAS is right for your situation,
please write back to me and I’ll be happy to help you with other ideas to help create magical memories for your vacation.
Wishing you lots of pixie dust,
Shannon
