Hi Donna, and welcome back to planDisney!
This is a great question! Per the
cancellation policy, “you must cancel at least one day prior to your reservation to avoid a per-person cancellation fee.” You would be charged the noted cancellation fee if you fail to cancel within that timeframe. If your plans change, I recommend doing everything possible to ensure the dining reservation is canceled to avoid paying the cancellation fee. Having said that, we did have an occasion when
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance first opened where we had a dining reservation that we were running late for. I called and explained to the Cast Member that we were still in line, and that person was able to modify our reservation to give us time to experience the attraction and then make it to our dining destination. I am not sure if that is the norm, but for that occasion, it was helpful. I hope this helps.
Please let us know if you have additional questions; we are here to help if you need us.
Have a magical time!
