Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like you have an incredible adventure ahead with visits to both of Disney's beautiful island destinations, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay. I'd say your biggest challenge won't be finding a chair, it'll be deciding which beach view you want to enjoy first!
The great news is that
chairs and umbrellas are complimentary at both islands. There is no rental fee and no need to reserve them ahead of time. They're available on a first-come, first-served basis, and Disney does a fantastic job providing plenty for all Guests to enjoy. In all of our visits, we've never had trouble finding a place to relax.
One of my favorite spots on
Castaway Cay is on the family beach near Cookie’s BBQ. My crew likes to settle in under the palm trees, and if we're lucky enough to snag one of the nearby hammocks, that's an added bonus! There's just something about listening to the waves with a little island breeze that makes it easy to forget what day of the week it is.
We're usually pretty relaxed on island mornings. We take our time enjoying breakfast onboard before heading ashore because we're happy wherever we end up. If you're hoping for a very specific location, though, you'll want to disembark earlier in the day. At Castaway Cay, the chairs closest to Pelican Plunge are usually the first to fill up since they're convenient for families with kids. At
Lookout Cay, the front rows closest to the shoreline also tend to be the most popular. Even so, I wouldn't let that put you in a race worthy of Lightning McQueen. There are
plenty of chairs and umbrellas waiting farther up the beach, and sometimes that quieter stretch of sand ends up being the hidden gem of the day.
