Hey Howdy Hey Deborah and welcome back to planDisney!
Thank you so much for stopping by with your question on phone carrier access during your Magical vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. I will be happy to give you a little more insight and some options that may help you navigate these waters. Let's get to it!
With my experience in the parks and Orlando in general, it is such a big city that I feel that it is well covered by most cell service providers. While you have many locations in Walt Disney World that feel like you are super secluded and are off the beaten path, you are still so close to so much of the Magic that you should not notice that much variation in coverage. One big thing that should help to make you feel a little more confident in your trip is the
complimentary wireless internet access Disney provides to all Guests when onsite. This is accessible from all the parks, resorts and even on some transportation options! So if you are worried about coverage, I would not worry too much about it because you will have various options to connect to the internet to access your My Disney Experience account.
All that being said, I would still recommend that your companion download the
My Disney Experience app on their phone as well. Just to have a backup in case something does happen with your phone, you will have access to your information another way. They can either have it all set up with a separate account that shares information with you, or you can be signed into your account, either way, works!
When you are on your vacation, your phone is key when it comes to interacting with so much around you! Not only can you access your park tickets and everything on your My Disney Experience account, but taking pictures, booking Lightning Lane Entries to getting walking directions to your next attraction can take a toll on your battery. I would highly recommend bringing either a portable battery charger or your plug-in wall charging unit to the parks. If you notice your batter running a bit low, that may be a great time to take a break, grab a snack and charge your phone a bit.
I hope this information was helpful to give you a little better insight into the wifi situation at Walt Disney World. Please feel free to stop back with any further questions you may have, we would be happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
