Hey there, hi there, Suzy! Thanks so much for dropping by planDisney with your great questions!
I'm so excited to hear that you just became part of the
Magic Key holder family! Congrats! When trying to decipher the
Magic Key Availability Calendar, there is a difference between blocked and unavailable days. Blocked days will be the days that your Magic Key type does not have access to the parks, so this is a day that will always remain blocked. An unavailable day means that it is an available day for your pass type, however, currently, all reservations are booked for that day for your pass type. Unavailable means that it is possible that days could open up. It is possible to grab same-day reservations if they become available.
Pro tip: If a day I am hoping to visit is unavailable, I like to keep checking the calendar and I have had great luck getting those reservations, especially on the night before. This is because as a Magic Key holder, you can be blocked if make reservations and do not show up. If you are a no-show for your theme park ticket reservations for three reservations in any 90-day window will not be able to book a new theme park ticket reservation for 30 days. To avoid this possible penalty, you must cancel your reservation the day before. A lot of Magic Key holders will wait until the last minute to cancel and this is why I have had great success getting reservations late the night before.
Suzy, I hope this information is helpful and you can visit The Happiest Place on Earth very soon!
