    I am wondering if I should buy stainless steel insulated bottles for ice water I get for free at counter service food stands so the water stays cold throughout the day or if the Disney Dining Refillable mug keep the water cold a several hours.

    Hi John!

    The Disney refillable mugs are insulated and will definitely keep your drink cold for quite some time.  I've actually taken my stainless steel bottles to the parks for water and I quickly came to the realization that it wasn't a good idea for me.  Carrying it around all day was not convenient, and I ended up emptying it and just getting iced water at the quick service restaurants.  The bottle stayed in my tote bag the rest of the day and evening (so I STILL had to carry it around).

    Of course, it's personal preference, but I would just use your refillable mug throughout the day.  As you know, the Quick Service Restaurants will give you free refills of iced water, so take advantage of that when you need it.  The less you carry around while enjoying the parks, the happier you'll be.  Take this from "trial and error" girl.  I'm always looking to make my visits easier and my bag smaller!
