I am wondering if I buy into the DVC (Bay Lake Tower), are there storage facilities that we can use? Is there a fee for this? thank you.

    Hi Michele -

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is a great Disney Vacation Club property. My family and I really enjoy the lovely resort and the convenience to Magic Kingdom. While Disney Vacation Club itself does not offer a long-term storage facilities, there is a wonderful Orlando-based business which offers this service. It's called Owner's Locker, and you can find it at ownerslocker.com. This is a fee-based service. Please check the website for current pricing.

An owner's locker is a large durable plastic tub - 13 inches high, 22 inches long, and 20 inches wide. It comes with dividers to help your stuff stay in place, as well as an organizer tray which is similar to a tray in which you might keep sewing supplies. You pay a one-time membership fee to set up the service, and an annual fee thereafter. When you plan a vacation to Walt Disney World, you visit the owner's locker website and schedule a visit from your owner's locker. Your owner's locker will be dropped off and held at bell services at your resort for you to pick up upon arrival. That first trip, you fill your owner's locker with the stuff you want to store. Upon check out, you leave the owner's locker at bell services. Owner's locker will come pick it up, and will take your locker back to their climate-controlled storage facility.

We love our Owner's Locker. It's great for all of that stuff that you lug back and forth every trip. Ours houses our toiletries such as shampoo and sunscreen, many kitchen supplies like napkins and salt and pepper, and pool toys and card games for our daughter. Our organizer tray houses miscellaneous items we have found we need occasionally on a trip such as scotch tape and Sharpie markers, as well as first aid supplies.

I do hope you'll check out the Owner's Locker website to see if it meets your needs. If you do buy into Disney Vacation Club, I guarantee that it will be truly magical the first time you hear those words, "Welcome home!"
