I am wondering about the bus transportation at the Cabins in Fort Wilderness. I am wheel chair bound and would like to know if the bus circles the loop at the cabins or if I will need to transport to the bus stop outside the loop.

    Howdy Travis!

Thank you for stopping by to send us your question, and welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! Wow, Travis, your magical vacation is coming so soon! Can you believe that in just a few weeks, you will be at Fort Wilderness, soaking in all the magic and the calm of nature? I absolutely loved my stay at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, and I know you will have the best vacation ever.

One of my favourite things about Disney is that there is truly something for everyone to enjoy the Disney magic. In fact, Walt Disney himself said, "to all who come to this happy place: welcome." Well, he was talking about Disneyland, but I think it works for all the theme parks, right? When it comes to Disney bus transportation, we know that the buses are wheelchair accessible. However, the bus stops are located on main roads right outside the loops of the Cabins, so I would suggest grabbing a map of the Resort upon check-in. Another way you can access a map of the Resort is by downloading the My Disney Experience mobile, where you can select exactly what you are looking for. I highly suggest keeping a map with you as this Resort is huge! At Fort Wilderness, you will also have access to one of my favourite modes of transportation at the Walt Disney World Resort: the water taxis! The water taxis are small boats that can bring you right to the front of the Magic Kingdom from your Resort and back at the end of the day. They are such a nice and relaxing way to get to the parks, and the view of the different Resorts by the water is always gorgeous. If you time yourself right, you might even be on the boat during the fireworks!

Now, Travis, you have picked such a magical time to visit, and there are so many new offerings for you to discover! Since you will be visiting this year, you must look into some of the offerings only available for the 50th anniversary. Indeed, some of my favourites include Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire at Cinderella Castle and the 50th-anniversary cavalcade in Magic Kingdom Park. These activities are especially great if you are travelling with little ones, or simply if you are like me and enjoy seeing your favourite characters! In addition to all the entertainment that has returned, did you know that you can get all sorts of themed treats and meals as a part of the World's Most Magical Celebration? I cannot wait to try the Tropical Serenade Float, a coconut soft-serve float with the Resort's famous POG juice and a pineapple cake pop. But don't worry, there are plenty of options even if you don't have a sweet tooth! Finally, I highly recommend watching the new nighttime spectacular Disney Enchantment to end your day. You might even get to see some extra magic go down Main Street USA!

I hope this was helpful, Travis, and that you and your Ohana will have the best day ever on your upcoming Disney vacation. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your trip, please don't hesitate to reach back out. You've got a friend in us, partner!

    Have a magical day,
