Hi Katie! Welcome back to planDisney.
Your Star Wars fan is going to have a BLAST exploring the planet Batuu at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Piloting the Millennium Falcon, joining the Resistance in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, or exploring the stalls and having a Ronto Wrap in Black Spire Outpost - it truly feels as though you have stepped into the movies. Enjoy every minute of your galactic adventure!
The experience at Savi's Workshop is one of my very favorite things to do anywhere at Walt Disney World Resort, but I agree that if your Padawan wants a lightsaber they can play with and manoeuver, you're better off with a different experience.
Tatooine Traders, located at the exit of
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, does offer customizable lightsabers. Your 6-year-old can choose from a variety of blades and hilts to build their custom saber. My 9-year-old LOVED Savi's and considers his saber from there a treasure, but he plays with the one he made at Tatooine Traders much more (not only because he's instructed to be
verrrry careful with the Savi's lightsaber, but also because the Tatooine Traders one is much lighter).
You can also find a lightsaber building opportunity at
Once Upon a Toy in Disney Springs. The Star Wars experiences have been moving around a bit lately, so if you don't see lightsaber parts there, a friendly Cast Member should be able to point you in the right direction. The
Star Wars Trading Post in Disney Springs is another fun store for Star Wars fans and their Cast Members love to talk about all things "galaxy far, far away."
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question, Katie. Please come back and see us if you have any further questions as you count down the weeks until your vacation. I hope your family has the BEST time!
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
