I was just wondering we are going to bring our family to disney in Jun and my little girl has Down Syndrome. I was wondering do you do anything special for the kidos with disabilities. Just wondering. Some had said to me you do but I have never heard that.

Hi Albe! I am sure your little girl is going to be so excited about the upcoming Disney vacation trip. Every child is special at Walt Disney World and cast members go out of their way to make extra magic for them during their stay.

Disney does not have any special programs in place for specific issues but like I said your daughter will be treated with magic and pixie dust wherever you might be. In the parks they have something called the Guest Assistance Card which you should definitely stop in to get. This card will enable you to wait in quiet areas for some of the attractions versus in the regular queue lines. It is not a front of the line pass but instead something that Disney does to try to make the long wait a little more enjoyable for those with special needs. When you arrive in a park just ask where the Guest Services is located and they will help you with this.

Other great ways to surprise your daughter is to have something special delivered to your room when you are out in the park one day. Check with the Disney florist, www.disneyflorist.com, to see some of the great ideas. Another thought is to order a cake for delivery to one of your meals.

Make sure you purchase an autograph book and let her stop and do some of the character meet and greets. Get a Photopass card from the photographer and use this card during your trip. When you arrive home check out all the pictures on line and make your order for some of your favorites. It is such a great way to not always worry about having your own camera with you to capture the magic and smiles.

During your vacation if you find you need something specific to help your daughter be more comfortable just stop in at your resort and they will assist you. Have a magical time!
