Hiya, Jamie!
Welcome to planDisney! This is an excellent question. I have great news for you! Booking a
Walt Disney World vacation package online is simple, saves you time, and can be easily modified before your final payment. This means that you can plan for a solo trip and turn it into an adventure for two in no time at all.
You can get started by creating a
My Disney Experience account. This gives you the ability to book and plan out your magical adventure online through the Walt Disney World website. You can also download the
My Disney Experience mobile app for more amazing planning options before your arrival and during your stay. You can make dining reservations and create a magical itinerary with
Disney Genie through this planning tool. If your party for one becomes a party of two, don't forget to have the Guest create their own account and link it to yours. This will allow both of you to plan on the go with ease!
Once you have booked your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, you can modify your plans through the
My Plans option of the My Disney Experience drop-down menu on the
Walt Disney World website. This page will have all of your vacation details including your hotel information, confirmation numbers, and balance. You will also see a link to
Change Reservation. Select this option to add the additional Guest in moments. The next page lists all of the changes you can make to your vacation package, including the option to add to your travel party. Select the blue
Change link to add the Guest. It is important to note that any added Guest will need to have the same ticket type and number of park day visits. If you are booking a room-only reservation and wish to add the Guest the process to add a second person will also be through
My Plans and can be modified through similar steps. You will each be able to purchase your tickets online, and can do this with separate transactions. This gives you more flexibility with ticket types and the number of days if your travel plans are different. There is also the option to speak to a friendly Cast Member
by phone to make any changes.
After purchasing your tickets, whether it's for one or two, don't forget to make your
Disney Park Pass reservations. All four theme parks require a reservation in addition to a valid theme park ticket. I recommend making the reservation as soon as your dates are official, as some days may offer limited availability due to popularity.
We'll see ya real soon!
