    I am wondering is it better to buy the magic band prior to coming or should we wait until we are there?

    Hey Chelsey,

    Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. MagicBands are the theme park technology of the future and it was “all started by a mouse.” MagicBands are fun, convenient, wearable technology designed to make your life easy while at Walt Disney World Resort.

    For Guests of Walt Disney World Resort hotels you will be able to customize and received your MagicBands before you arrive. Customization is done on My Disney Experience as soon as your Disney Resort hotel reservation has been confirmed. Once you have finished customizing your MagicBands with a special color and name for each Guest in your party the MagicBands will undergo a fulfillment process then be ship directly to the address of your choice. You may even choose to pick them up at the Disney Resort hotel.

    All Guests may purchase MagicBands online through the Disney Store with or without a Disney Resort hotel stay. You will be limited to the online selection but those designs are amazing. If you wait till you arrive at the theme parks then you may purchase theme park exclusive MagicBands. You may even customize your own MagicBand with your favorite characters and your name in designer fonts.

    Personally, if I was not receiving a complimentary MagicBand with my Disney Resort hotel due to staying off property, I would wait till I arrived. There are so many more options that will fit your Disney Side.
