Hi Anna,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted to hear that you are planning a first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort for next year!
First things first, I would plan to visit all four theme parks - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Each is unique with amazing attractions, characters and entertainment. Second, I suggest that you reserve a vacation package with a resort hotel and theme park tickets. My family prefers deluxe resorts but value and moderate resort hotels are lovely as well. Consider your budget and the amenities you prefer. Be sure to make advanced dining reservations 180 days in advance. Popular restaurants like Be Our Guest Restaurant get booked quickly. A few of our favorites character meals are 1900 Park Fare, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, and Chef Mickey's. We love character meals because we can get autographs and photos with our favorite characters without waiting in long lines!
Consider also the time of year that you go. In the Spring, you could visit the
Epcot® International Flower & Garden Festival. In the Fall you could visit the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival. During the Fall you could also jump into a little spooky fun with Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and in the late Fall and Winter, you could enjoy the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is incredible. I would also do the Candlelight Processional Dining Package to hear the Christmas story retold. And finally, for shopping, head to Disney Springs!
Anna, I trust that you will choose the best time of year to go with your friend!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
