Hello! I was wondering what the best annual pass option might be for out-of-state residents. I am currently looking at the Flex and the Signature passports. Both have positives and both have negatives. What is your best suggestion?

    Howdy, Danielle!

It looks like my friend Jennifer already has the discussion started up about purchasing a Disneyland Resort Annual Passport. Now, let’s talk about comparing those Passport options. When my family visited the Disneyland Resort for Spring Break, we got Disney Deluxe Passports. But during a subsequent visit, we upgraded to the Disney Signature Passport. Besides fewer blockout dates, the things that pushed us toward the Signature Passport were the parking benefit and the higher level of Passholder discounts for merchandise and dining.

Now that the Disney Flex Passport is available, there’s a whole new level of year-long fun to consider. Depending on the number of visits and times of the year of those visits, I do feel like the Flex Passport may be a better value for you. Since the introduction of the Flex Passport, reports I've heard from Cast Members are that reservation days have been readily available so far. While Passholders with Flex Passports may only have two outstanding reservations at a time within a 30-day window, they may still make additional reservations once existing reservations are used or canceled, even if within the same 30-day period.

If you are on the fence between the Flex and Signature Passports, I would recommend starting off with the Disney Flex Passport. You may make your first reservations even before you activate your Passport at the parks. And your first-day visit may even take place on a blockout date or date when reservations are no longer available. If for some reason feel like you would benefit from a Disney Signature Passport more, you may choose to upgrade your Passport at a later time.

I hope that helps in the decision process. Please come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any additional questions you may have.

    Have a magical time, Danielle!
