Wondering what is available on property or near WDW property for Covid 19 PCR testing. Need current info applicable to flying home from WDW first week in August.

    Hi, Alicia! Welcome to planDisney!

Can you believe your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is only two days away? You'll be on a plane headed for the Most Magical Place on Earth before you can say "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"!

With all that's been going on in the world, we could all use a dose of magic. You'll be glad to know that Disney has been continually monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and implementing safety protocols as things evolve. There's no testing facility on property, but you can find some health care providers and retailers nearby that can help you.

After a Google search, there are two facilities I found that are close to Walt Disney World property. Both are operated by AdventHealth Centra Care:

AdventHealth Centra Care Orange Lake (near Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge)
8201 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy
    Kissimmee, FL 34747

AdventHealth Centra Care Lake Buena Vista (near Disney Springs)
    12500 South Apopka Vineland Road
    Orlando, FL  32836

I can't link them here, but you should find them if you search by name. Both say that appointments are not required, but reservations are recommended "due to possibly high wait times," so I'd call to see what kinds of tests they offer and to make a reservation.

Another option is the COVID-19 testing clinic inside the Orlando International Airport. This could be a perfect solution for you since you need a test to fly back to Canada. It's also operated by AdventHealth, and you can find more information about the location, hours, and types of tests they offer on the Orlando International Airport website.

If you need any other assistance with health related issues during your stay, Walt Disney World has partnered with AdventHealth as its official health care provider. You'll have access to video visits, urgent care, and emergency assistance. Plus, Walt Disney World Resort Guests can have transportation to the Centra Care facility in Lake Buena Vista arranged through the front desk of your Resort hotel, so you should stop by and ask if it also applies if you need a COVID-19 test.

Alicia, I hope this helps you relax and enjoy your vacation knowing the health services you need are available for you. Thank you so much for stopping by to see us, and please come back again if you have any more questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
