Hi Paula -
Thanks so much for visiting the Moms Panel.
Laundry is something we just cannot get away from it seems - it's a chore that just follows us Moms & Dads wherever we go. But hey, we get the fresh smelling clothes and less of it to pack. You are thinking efficient!
All the Disney Cruise ships are equipped with 24 hour laundry facilities. There are multiple washers/dryers available for use, and each guest just has to make sure they keep tabs on their wash/dry cycles to make sure they are allowing efficient use of the machines for everyone, as a courtesy. There is detergent available for purchase as well. It is convenient now, since all you need is your Key to the World Card to purchase the detergent ($1) and also to run the wash cycle ($2) and the dryer ($2). No need to bring coins. The cycles are timed, so it's pretty easy to return and collect your clothes. Each laundry area also has an iron that you can use. If you intend to use the laundry while on board, it might be a good idea to bring a small popup hamper or a canvass tote to bring your clothes to and from the laundry area. Check the deck plan on the different laundry locations (there is more than one). As you can imagine, evenings and afternoons are the busiest time - as well as sea days. Each machine has easy to follow instructions, and it is pretty easy to operate.
Wishing your family a magical voyage on your upcoming Disney Cruise, Paula!
