Hi I was just wondering if there was anything special for women with breast cancer. My wife just got diagnosed with it and we are coming July 21,2020.

Hi there, Brian, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I really appreciate you bringing your question here, and I am more than happy to help you start planning. I’m so sorry for everything your family is going through right now. This must be a very difficult time for you all. There’s truly no better place to make special memories with your family than at the Happiest Place on Earth, and I can’t wait for your magical adventures to begin next summer! In the meantime, I have some recommendations that should help make your visit more comfortable for your wife.

First, I recommend stopping by Guest Relations upon arrival at either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. You can find Guest Relations in City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. (in Disneyland Park) or in Chamber of Commerce on Buena Vista Street (in Disney California Adventure Park). You’ll have the chance to speak with a Cast Member about your wife’s specific needs, and they will be able to help you create a plan for her. One option is Disability Access Service (DAS), which would allow your family to receive a return time for attractions, so your wife doesn’t have to stand in the conventional line queue if that’s too much for her.

I also recommend downloading the Disneyland app and adding Disney MaxPass to your tickets, which can be used in conjunction with DAS. This will help your family maximize the time you have in the parks, by scheduling your Disney FASTPASS selections directly from your mobile device! MaxPass also includes Disney PhotoPass, which will help you and your wife capture all the magical memories you create during this trip.

The Disneyland Resort also offers wheelchair and electronic convenience vehicle (ECV) rentals on a daily basis. These rentals can be found just outside the Main Entrance of Disneyland Park, adjacent to the Kennel.

Don’t forget to indulge the family with special treats, from Churros, to DOLE WHIPS, to popcorn – there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy! You can start making dining reservations up to 60 days in advance. Blue Bayou Restaurant, Lamplight Lounge, and Wine Country Trattoria are a few of my favorites!

I hope this information helps your wife enjoy a comfortable, magical experience at the Disneyland Resort next summer. Please stop by with any additional planning questions you may have. We love making magic happen!

    Take care, Brian!

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
