Wondering if anything special happens when you arrive at the Parks before the gates open. Is there a big welcome? or music, fireworks etc? Is it worth being there to see the magic happen?

Hi, Jen! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Of the four Theme Parks at Walt Disney World Resort, the only one with an official Welcome Show is Magic Kingdom Park. Five minutes before the Park opens for the day, you’ll see “Let the Magic Begin” performed on the Cinderella Castle stage. It’s a big welcome with music AND fireworks!

For me and my family, one of the biggest reasons to arrive at the Theme Parks early is to take advantage of typically lower crowd levels and lower wait times for some of our favorite attractions. Sometimes I’ll book our three complimentary FastPass+ reservations for right before and immediately after lunch. That way we can use the standby queues in the early morning along with limited waits for our FastPass+ experiences in the early afternoon. That still gives us plenty of time to enjoy a delectable lunch inside the Park and then head back to our Walt Disney World Resort hotel room for some rest and relaxation during the hottest part of the day. Then we’re well-rested and ready to return to the Parks later that evening!

I do hope you get to experience the Magic of an early morning at the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks, Jen! Remember: if you’re a Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guest, you can also extend the fun with Extra Magic Hours, too.

Please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer for you. We hope to see you real soon!
