Hi there! I was wondering if anyone knows if they still pick a child to open Toontown in DL? Also does Toontown usually open the same time as the park or about an hour or so later? TIA!!!

Hi there, Sunisa! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I am so excited that you asked this question because the opening of Mickey's Toontown is something I LOVE to tell parents about! Mickey's Toontown generally opens about an hour after the official opening of Disneyland Park. Be sure to check the schedule for exact hours for your travel dates. While not guaranteed to happen every day, Mickey and a few of his pals will often open the gates of Mickey's Toontown and usher Guests in. Additionally, Mickey and his friends will give high-fives and hugs to Guests and occasionally select a few children and walk them in to their designated meeting areas within Mickey's Toontown.

During one visit, my daughter was lucky enough to enter Mickey's Toontown hand-in-hand with Goofy! They played a bit by the fountain in front of Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin and then my daughter was the first to have an official meet and greet with Goofy that day. She got a big hug, Goofy signed her autograph book, and we all posed for pictures. It is honestly one of the most magical memories I have from any Disney Parks trip!

So, get there a little early to be at the front of the crowd. If your child is willing, have him/her stand and be ready if Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald come out to welcome Guests. You might just be one of the lucky ones to experience this special magical moment! See ya real soon!
