Hi Paula!
The distance between attractions and rides can vary from park to park and within the sections of those parks. For example, in the Magic Kingdom, you'll find several attractions very close to each other. However, Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park is the largest of the 4 theme parks at Disney World and encompasses 500 acres. Many of these areas are inhabited by animals so you won't be walking over 500 acres but the attractions and rides are more spread out.
There are places for Guests to sit and relax throughout all of the parks so you'll be able to take a break whenever you need to during your daily adventures. While there aren't any "in park" transportation systems, there are some ways to navigate without walking the whole way. For example, you could take the Walt Disney World Railroad from one station to another stop along the route and cut down on walking. You could also take one of the Main Street Vehicles down to Cinderella Castle (its a very short ride). These may not be the quickest options but get you there. At Epcot, there are 4 Friendship Boat docks on the World Showcase Lagoon that can transport you across. Again it may not be the quickest way but gets you off your feet for a few minutes.
You can view Maps of Walt Disney World Resort on the official Disney website by clicking
here. You can even create your own Customized Maps of any of the four theme parks by clicking
here. You can also do a Google search and you can find actual Guide Maps for all of the theme parks that people have posted online.
If you have any questions about the distances between specific attractions within the parks, we'll be happy to assist you.
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
