I was wondering if anyone has experience with the fishing trips that are offered at the resorts, specifically POR. My son really loves fishing and we were thinking of booking this for the morning of our last day. thanks

Hi Sharon! I have some avid fishing enthusiasts in my family including myself and we love to book the private Fishing Excursions during some of our Walt Disney World vacations.

I have not booked from Port Orleans Riverside but have booked trips on the Epcot waterways as well as Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. They have always provided us with some great fishing and the guides do know what they are doing and how to find the fish. This past Thanksgiving we were constantly catching and releasing fish for the entire two hours.

I can only imagine that the fishing would also be pretty amazing on the Port Orleans waterways. They will take the boat to all the hot spots and let you try your luck at casting. The guide will be more then happy to bait your hook and take the fish off or if you are a true pro you can do that yourself. On our latest trip we had three adults and two young boys, ages 8 and 10 and we all had a wonderful time.

It sounds like the perfect way to spend your last morning. Pack the night before so you don't have that pressure and just go out and see the sunrise while catching the hungry fish. Just thinking about this makes me want to book another fishing excursion for our next trip this fall!
