    I was wondering if anyone is aware of Events going on at DW in October 2014. We are looking to go Oct 6-12 and I see that some rooms selections are already booking with no availability. Thanks

    Hi Courtney:

    While Disney World is generally crowded all year round, crowds tend to be lighter when schools are in session, such as in early October when you plan to visit.  I would not be worried about your planned trip as crowds will likely be lighter than at more popular times.  It's possible that certain Resorts will be hosting conventions during that week, which may account for room bookings.  Special Events that tend to occur in October are RunDisney's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-miler race, Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on select evenings. 

    Although the above events tend to draw crowds, the fact that schools will be in session during your planned visit will still likely result in lighter crowds compared to visits to Disney World during school vacations.
