I was just wondering what age you would recommend taking a child to Disney at?

    Hi Ashley,

I think, if possible, its best to take kids to Walt Disney World for the first time before they are 6.  At that age everything is real and a fantasy all at the same time.  If they visit it again when they are teenagers, they will have wonderful memories of their childhood innocence, while experiencing it again as young adults.

I was fortunate enough to be able to bring my daughter when she 2, 3, and 4.  She may not remember everything about her first trip, but her Dad and I do.  The look on her face when she saw Winnie the Pooh for the first time was priceless and will stay with me forever.  She had the same look of amazement on her face when she returned a year later.

I went to WDW for the first time when I was 5.  My favorite ride was "It's a Small World".  I remember thinking how beautiful and magical it was.  When I return now, all those emotions I felt as a five year old come rushing back.  I'm not sure if you brought a 13 year old to WDW for the first time they would feel the same way taking that ride.

Meet the Panelist: Michelle, New Jersey

I have been fortunate enough to be on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel since 2008.  As a Disney World enthusiast, I can’t imagine a greater opportunity.  My husband, our 6-year-old daughter, and I visit WDW a few times a year.
