Wondering if an Adult Scooter is Disneyland Railroad accessible? Thanks for your help!

Hey howdy hey, Karen, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! December is one of my favorite months to visit the Happiest Place on Earth – you can’t beat the joy and wonder of the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort!

Yes, I’m happy to report that the Disneyland Railroad can accommodate both wheelchairs and single rider, 4-wheel electronic conveyance vehicles (ECVs). There are designated cars on the train that will be able to accommodate you. In fact, there are many attractions at the Disneyland Resort that allow Guests to remain in their wheelchair or ECV during the ride experience. I recommend checking out The Disneyland Park Guide for Guests with Disabilities and The Disney California Adventure Park Guide for Guests with Disabilities. Those helpful guides will show you which attractions can accommodate you without having to transfer. You can also pick up a paper version of these guides after entering the theme parks. Here’s another handy page to check out, which also lists attraction access information. According to this page, the Disneyland Railroad is wheelchair and ECV accessible at these three stations: Mickey's Toontown, New Orleans Square, and Tomorrowland station.

If you have any additional questions upon arrival, I recommend stopping by City Hall in Disneyland Park, or Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park, and a Cast Member will be happy to assist you. You may be eligible for Disability Access Service (DAS) depending on your particular needs. DAS is designed to accommodate Guests who aren’t able to wait in a conventional queue due to a disability.

Wheelchair and ECV rentals are available at the Disneyland Resort, just outside the Main Entrance of Disneyland Park. You can also rent a wheelchair or ECV through the Disney Featured Provider, ScooterBug, a private mobility rental company. ScooterBug can deliver rentals to your Disneyland Resort Hotel for your convenience, too. You can reach ScooterBug at (800) 726-8284 to pre-order.

While you’re waiting for your magical ride around Disneyland Park, you won’t want to miss this virtual ride on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, featured on the Disney Parks Blog. Check out more #DisneyMagicMoments here!

I hope this information helps, Karen! Please stop by with any additional planning questions… I’m all EARs!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
