Hiya Emily,
Welcome to planDisney! What a great question!
Dining plans are such a fantastic add-on for Walt Disney World vacations. I love that I can pay for my meals in advance, allowing me to focus on spending my money on Mickey Ears and Orange Bird merchandise when I arrive at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
So, Emily, I'm glad that you're considering adding a dining plan to your vacation. Dining plans can be added to any
Vacation Package, even one that has already been reserved. A Vacation Package is created when you book your resort hotel in the same transaction as your theme park tickets. If you have a Vacation Package, then you can add on a dining plan, but if you have a room-only reservation, then currently you are not able to add on a dining plan to your reservation (unless you are an
Annual Passholder). If you have a Vacation Package, Emily, then you can add on a dining plan yourself through
My Disney Experience. To do so, log onto your My Disney Experience account, select My Plans, locate your reservation, and then click Change or Modify Your Reservation. One of the modification options will be to add a dining plan!
I hope this was helpful, Emily. Before I let you go, I noticed that your visit coincides with the
EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. This yummy festival is the perfect opportunity to use your dining plan snack credits if you're eligible to add a dining plan. The Disney Parks Blog shared a
sneak peek teaser of the bites, and it's going to be incredible. Check out the sneak peek and keep an eye out for the foodie guide as we approach the festival start. Please come back and see us as you continue planning if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
