Greetings, Rebecca!
I love this question! Thank you for thinking of us here at planDisney as you plan what I can already tell will be a fabulously fashionable visit to the
Disneyland Resort.
Yes, it is perfectly acceptable to dress dapper any day of the year, not just on "Dapper Day". Dapper Day is an event that is unsponsored by the
Disney Parks where people gather to celebrate vintage and retro fashion, but dressing dapper is a style choice that can be worn at any time. I have enjoyed several “Dapper Days” at the park with my One True Love, and some of my favorites include taking our engagement pictures at the Disneyland Park and wearing a glamorous sparkly dress to pose in photos with Minnie Mouse for
the Disney 100 celebration. Neither of those took place during the organized event.
I’m glad that you are familiar with the
attire guidelines for the parks and that you understand why they are in place. We wouldn’t want the littlest Mouseketeers to confuse a stylish guest with one of Mickey's friends!
Walt Disney had a strong vision for the Disneyland Resort, and he wanted guests to feel as though they had stepped into a magical world where anything was possible. When the park opened, many guests reflected this sense of magic and adventure and typically dressed in their Sunday best when visiting. Today, I always encourage visitors to dress comfortably to ensure that everyone has a fun and memorable experience. But if dressing dapper is comfortable for you and makes you feel confident, unique, and chic, then by all means, embrace it and enjoy expressing yourself through fashion! That’s what The Happiest Place On Earth is all about.
So, go ahead and dress dapper whenever you like, Rebecca!
Oh Rebecca, you’ve made me relive so many of my most elegant and classy memories at The Happiest Place On Earth, so thank you for that. I can’t wait to hear about what other spiffy plans you have to make your visit special. Please
come back and let me know if you have any other questions about how to enjoy the most debonair time at the resort now that you’ve got a friend in me.
See ya real soon,
Danielle
