Hi wonderful Moms! My bff is coming to WDW for New Year's, as a last minute trip. I planned our vaca for six months and can't offer much advise this late. Are there any New Year's happenings that don't require advance ressies I could let her know about?

Hi Stacey!  You can appreciate the task your friend has to plan at such a late date.  Dining reservations might be almost impossible at this point.  Encourage her to hit some of the great quick service locations and eat at off hours for the least amount of crowds.  For New Years Eve I would suggest she head to EPCOT if she has older or no children as that is the place to be for toasting as each country celebrates their midnights! Have her try for a dining time at Morocco as that is often one of the last to fill and is actually quite good.  The EPCOT Illuminations show on New Years Eve is spectacular and all this fun just takes a park ticket as usual.

If she is traveling with small children then I suggest the Magic Kingdom park for the day. This park often closes fairly early as it reaches capacity so you need to plan a full day there to assure yourself you will be a part of the festivities at midnight!  They will also have spectacular fireworks and parades and since you cannot buy alcohol in this park it is the one that is best for families. Again she would just need a park ticket for a full day of fun!
