Hi Anita,
I’m so excited to answer your question, as I just disembarked from the gorgeous
Disney Wonder and experienced this unbelievable
Alaskan itinerary! Truly a bucket list, epic vacation and I’m thrilled for you to embark on this adventure next year. Yes, mixed seating has returned to the main dining rooms and some families may be seated with other travel parties during dinner. The team works hard to make a compatible match in party types and ages to ensure a great experience on your cruise. While I also love to engage with other Guests onboard during activities and
Port Adventures, my family prefers a private table for our main dining rotation like you. I learned some important insights during this sailing to share with you, so let’s dive in!
You can now specify your preference for a private dining table within your reservation, which I encourage you to do. Log into your reservation (on the
Disney Cruise Line website or
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App) and you’ll see a section titled
Special Requests. From there you can select a
Private Table preference for your main dining assignment. Please know that the Dining Team does their best to meet your requests, but it is not guaranteed.
On my recent sailing I spoke with the Dining Manager, and he advised that if private dining is a priority for you, please be sure and speak with the Dining Team on embarkation day to confirm if this request has been or can be accommodated. When you switch the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App to
“onboard mode” on embarkation day, you can see your dining rotation schedule and table number, but you won’t know if you have a private table assignment until you are seated that first evening. There will be a time and location listed in your app to speak with the Dining Team onboard that first day; I always thought this was intended for dining changes or new adult-exclusive reservations, but they encouraged me to visit and confirm a private table request if desired. The teams work so hard to ensure you have a magical cruise, so if you list this preference and confirm once onboard, I’m sure they will do their best to accommodate you.
We had the best vacation ever on this Alaskan itinerary, Anita! From the unbelievable sights and exciting Port Adventures, each day kept getting better! I’m so excited for you to experience everything this cruise has to offer. Please keep your great questions coming, and if you’d like to
write me back directly I’m happy to share more details with you to help you have the best cruise ever, too.
Happy planning,
Amy
