Hey there, D, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by the panel with your question. I want to start by congratulating you on winning those complimentary tickets! Your Walt Disney World Vacation is already bringing priceless surprises your way, and I’m excited to see just how memorable your visit turns out to be!
The short answer to your question is: yes! The longer answer is: it depends! Walt Disney World currently requires each ticketed Theme Park Guest to have a
Theme Park Reservation to gain entry into the parks.
Reservation availability varies by day and also by Theme Park. The fantastic news is that all four Theme Parks very rarely run out of reservation space on the same day. This situation would only apply to the busiest times across the resort. Additionally, Theme Park Reservations are only required for the first park you plan to visit each day. So if you are planning to Park Hop, you can visit a different park once
Park Hopping hours begin. The caveat is that park hopping is only available provided there is capacity in your second park. I recommend keeping a close eye on your
My Disney Experience mobile app to find the most up-to-date information regarding park capacities and park hopping hours. But since you’d like to spend time in Magic Kingdom Park and reservations are unavailable, I recommend reserving EPCOT or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and spending the morning there. Grab some lunch and head to Magic Kingdom Park once park hopping hours open. You can also keep checking back to see if new availability opens even after you’ve secured your reservation. You never know when a little vacation luck will cross your path!
I hope this helps, D! If you have more questions while planning your Disney Vacation,
stop back by and let me know!
You’ve got a friend in me,
