I won a $2000.00 gift card for Disney Cruise. Besides Excursions and Tips is there much more (minus any souviners) that I will be spending that money on? And how much $ should I bring when we get off the boat in Bahamas/Castaway? Do you suggest cash or CC?

    Hi, Nikki!

What a lucky duck you are! If you would like, I could give you my shopping list for Disney Cruise Line items for DisneyStore.com! No?! Oh, well...I tried.

In that case, you can spend your gift card on spa treatments and salon services, bar items or specialty coffees as well as adult dining experiences at Palo and Remy.  At Castaway Cay, you will make purchases on your Key to the World Card (stateroom key) which is directly linked to your shipboard account.  Therefore, anything you buy or rent on the island will be applied to your gift card, too. In addition to Port Adventures on Castaway Cay, you can also rent bikes, snorkeling equipment, kayaks, tubes and floats. Plus, my favorite rental is a private cabana on the beach!

In Nassau, you really won't need much cash...especially if you book a Port Adventure through Disney. You may need some cash for tipping or to buy a souvenir, a drink or some food. Plus, I always bring a small bag or purse which includes our passports, stateroom keys, a widely accepted credit card and some cash. I would use my cash sparingly but will definitely need it for tips in Nassau or perhaps at the straw market. US currency is generally welcomed.

I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation.

    Bon voyage,

    Andi
