Hi Scott, welcome to planDisney!
Let me start by saying I see you going above and beyond for the princess or knight in your life. You are the magic and you are going to have the best time together at Walt Disney World Resort in December. My planDisney panelist pals and I recently put together our
best tips for princess encounters throughout the Disney parks and resorts. I especially appreciate the insights of girl dads
Greg and
Nick.
I went down the research rabbit hole when trying to secure a coveted
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom Park reservation for my daughter last month. All Guests can make reservations for this Enchanting Extras Collection experience 60 days in advance. Guests staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel can book this experience for their entire length of stay (up to 10 days) 60 days before check-in, which is a tremendous perk that explains why some dates fill up over 60 days in advance. As a Disney Resort hotel Guest, I was logged into my My Disney Experience account by 5:45 a.m. EST 60 days before my check-in date and noticed that reservations for my entire length of stay had already opened up. In perusing the available reservations, I also noted that there were no reservations for the first two days of our stay. Some reservation availability appeared by day three of our trip and I ended up booking a time for our very last park day. A few days later I dug a little deeper and discovered that a new day of reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom Park populates just after midnight EST/9:00 p.m. PST. What does this all mean for you?
My best tip for securing a hard-to-get reservation for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom Park is to be logged into your My Disney Experience account by midnight EST/9:00 p.m. PST 60 days before your desired reservation date. If there are no reservations once your date becomes available, you have done nothing wrong; this is a supply and demand issue beyond your control. Many families want to give the gift of a royal makeover, especially during the holidays.
Reservation availability does change in real time as Guests reimagine their park days, Scott, so there's always a chance a reservation will appear closer to your arrival. I realize that's not a guarantee, though, so let me offer an alternate solution. An online search for magical makeovers in the Orlando area provides options for a new dream. Plan C? Buy the dress that twirls, put glitter in the hair, and parade down Main Street, U.S.A., hand-in-hand for a picture in front of Cinderella Castle. Togetherness is pure Disney magic.
I wish my magic wand had more powers, Scott, but I hope I've given you some things to think about as you determine your next steps. If you have any other trip-planning questions,
I'm all EARS!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
