Hi Valerie! Welcome to planDisney.
Hurray! I love hearing from families who are just beginning to plan a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I know you're getting so excited just thinking about spending time together at The Most Magical Place on Earth, and I'm excited FOR you!
I'm a military spouse, and we've enjoyed many Walt Disney World Resort vacations thanks to the fantastic military discounts available to us. On behalf of my own military family and my fellow panelists, thank you and your husband for your service to our country.
I wish I had a crystal ball like Madame Leota from the Haunted Mansion or magical cards like Dr. Facilier. While I don't have those, I do have a few years of experience using these discounts, and I'm happy to share what I know. While military discounts are never guaranteed for the next year, we have seen special offers for theme park tickets,
Disney Resorts Collection hotels, and
Memory Maker for the past several years. Usually, the next year's military discount is released in the late summer or early fall. My advice is to watch the
Disney Parks Blog for announcements and keep an eye on the
Special Offers webpage.
The
current Military Promotional Theme Park Ticket offer and
room discount on select Walt Disney World Resort hotels will give you a sense of the type of discounts that have been offered, but the prices on the tickets typically go up each year and we just don't know what next year's offer might hold. I wish I had more specific information to share, but hopefully, it won't be too long of a wait!
In the meantime,
we're sharing our tips on choosing the Disney Resorts Collection hotel that is just right for your visit in our Panel Extras. I like to spend time looking at the
webpages for the various resorts to get familiar with the theming, room decor, pools, recreation, and dining. That way, when I call to make my reservation (military discounted rooms must be booked by phone), I'm familiar with the hotels available on my dates. Looking for a romantic getaway? Consider Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. A resort hotel filled with Disney touches? Disney's Riviera Resort or Disney's Art of Animation Resort are filled with fun and whimsical nods to your favorite movies. There are so many options!
Valerie,
I would be happy to help you with any further military questions as you make your plans and dream about your 2022 visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
