when was WL been last updated? thinking of there and art of animation or beach club . kids are 9 and 7 what is the best place to stay......

    Hi Julie!

I stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge a few months ago, and they had just finished some renovations over there. I compared the pictures I took during that trip to the ones I took when we stayed there in 2010 and I noticed quite a few changes in the rooms. I absolutely love that resort!

If I was in your shoes and I was trying to decide between Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Art of Animation Resort, and Disney's Beach Club Resort - I'd have a really tough time deciding because all three are wonderful resorts. Let me see if I can help with the decision process:

    1) Budget - The room rates at Disney's Art of Animation Resort are typically priced a little lower than those at Disney's Wilderness Lodge or Disney's Beach Club Resort.

    2) Season - If you're planning your Disney vacation in the summer months, I'm guessing your family will want to take a break from the theme parks during the day and hit the pool to cool off. The main pool at Disney's Art of Animation Resort is the largest one in Walt Disney World! The pool at Disney's Beach Club has a sand-lined bottom that made me feel like I was walking on the ocean floor.

    3) Interests - The neat thing about the three resorts on your list is that they each have a very unique theme and offering of dining and recreation options. While I love the theme parks, I also make sure to plan some down time at our resort when we go on vacation (e.g. exploring the grounds, participating in the recreation activities, or just having a leisurely meal). It might be fun to sit down with your family and browse DisneyWorld.com to see which of the three resorts have amenities that create the most buzz with everyone.

I hope that helped to point you in the right direction. As you can probably tell, I love talking about Walt Disney World, so please feel free to stop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel and bounce more ideas off of me as you continue to finalize your vacation plans!
