Hi, WL 11/30-12/5. Would like to see decorations at FW. Once you get there, what is the best way to see dec? Rent 4-wheeled bike, a golf Cart, walk, carriage ride, sleigh ride, wagon ride? How long would it take to see all the campers? Thanks

    Karen:

Shhhh.... don't tell everyone that the campers at Fort Wilderness decorate their campsites for Christmas... it's one of the best kept secrets at Disney, in my opinion.

However, because you're now in the "know," I will tell you that I think the best way to go "looping" at Fort Wilderness to view all the decorations would be to rent a golf cart. The resort is too large to walk for simply looking at the décor, and I don't believe the resort offers the Surrey bikes that seat four or six like the Boardwalk. Renting separate bikes at the current rate of $9 an hour or $18 a day adds up to almost the same price as the electric carts for a fraction of the effort. The sleigh rides will run you a little more than the carts without the flexibility or the ability to see all of the loops.

Reservations for golf carts can be made up to one year in advance by calling 407-824-2742. You must be 18 years old to rent a cart but only 16 to drive one with a valid driver's license. Currently, a cart rents for $59 a day plus tax and you can pick it up 24 hours a day at the front desk at The Outpost.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
