Wishing to eat at Chef Mickey's in November, it is booked through the week we are there. Is it possible to go to the restaurant and try for a table in person? It is going to be a fun trip, going with friends and the kids do not know!! Thanks

    Hi Deborah,

Sounds like you've got a fun surprise planned for your family! Chef Mickey's is a hugely popular restaurant, and the reservations fill up quite quickly. Unless you happen to be staying at the Contemporary, I don't know if I would try just showing up to dine without a reservation, especially if you have a large party. Yes, it's fun but not if you have to wait forever for a table or (worse) travel there only to get turned away. I would, however, keep calling to try and make reservations. People frequently cancel, especially as your trip gets closer. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get lucky with that.

In the meantime, there are some other great character dining experiences that you might still be able to make reservations for.  Tusker House, 'Ohana, and Cape May Cafe all have great character breakfasts. For dinner try Garden Grill or Crystal Palace. Some fun non-character dining restaurants are Whispering Canyon Cafe and Biergarten.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
