Ahoy there Adam, I'm happy to welcome you to planDisney as you prepare to set sail!
For a lot of folks and families over the years, booking
Ground Transportation with Disney Cruise Line is one of those definite must-dos that can seamlessly convey you to and from your ship in a way that really avoids some of the stress and hassle that comes with checking out and contending with your luggage. We've taken advantage of it several times over the past year heading to
Port Canaveral from Walt Disney World Resort and back again - and you'll be happy to hear that the buses do indeed take guests over to the
Disney Resort Hotels each time - a great way to have an extra bit of vacation after the voyage!
- When you're logged in to the Disney Cruise Line website, be sure to check your upcoming Reservation to confirm whether it displays that you have booked ground transportation, and you'll also have the opportunity to make sure you indicate where you'll be heading following the voyage as you complete the Online Check-In process.
- You'll receive a Key to the World Card on Embarkation Day which has useful information on it including your name, your assigned Muster station, Castaway Club status, dinner seating and rotation as well as a special area currently found on the right-hand side under your sailing dates designated for Cast Members to be able to see whether you have Ground Transportation reserved. On our recent cruise for example, we found the letters "PR" on our Key to the World Cards which meant that we had booked transportation to the Port ("P") as well as our Disney Resort Hotel ("R").
- On Debarkation Day as we left the Disney Wish and exited the terminal building, we simply followed the signage that led out to the waiting buses that were seemingly assigned to more than one Disney Resort Hotel, based on the way that fellow guests were sorted to board. The Cast Members greeting us on the way to the buses all checked our Key to the World Cards and asked where we were heading to and that seemed to be all that was required to board!
Note that policies and offerings may always be subject to change without prior notice, but you should be informed about any changes the night before you're scheduled to depart the ship if anything is different. The
helpful Crew Members at the Guest Services Desk on board can also be very helpful if you do have any concerns before you're about to head back to shore after your voyage!
Wishing you a fantastic sailing, and some awesome adventures on land and at sea!
