Ahoy, matey! Thank you for stopping by planDisney. I'm so excited to answer your question, Carole! On most Bahamian Disney Cruise Line sailings (like yours!), Guests can expect a Pirate Night, which includes Disney pals in their garb, a delicious Pirate-y themed bounty for dinner, a late-night Deck Party, and more swashbuckling fun.
I recently sailed the high seas with some of my planDisney pals on the
Disney Wish and experienced Pirate Night on night three of our four-night cruise, which was Nassau night. This should be the same for you too, Carole! But you should know, the “Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party” starts pretty late to ensure both dinner seatings have the opportunity to see it. On my sailings, the deck party didn't begin until after 10pm. However, be sure to check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App once onboard the ship to confirm the schedule for all the entertainment and activities available, as they are always subject to change.
I can absolutely understand why you wouldn't want the kids to miss Pirate Night though! Our oldest son, who is usually quite reserved, danced his heart out to close down the deck party on the Disney Magic and stayed up way past his bedtime (and mine!) watching Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl under the stars on the pool deck. My youngest kept asking, "When are the fireworks? When are the fireworks?" And then when the sky lit up over the sea, it was a magical moment for our whole family.
Tip: Head up to Deck 12 on the starboard (right) side of the Disney Wish for excellent views of both the deck party (from above) and the fireworks! That's my family's go-to spot!
I'm so thrilled to hear that you're also interested in dining at the beautiful
Palo Steakhouse Restaurant on the Disney Wish, Carole! The ocean views are incredible and, I have to admit, it's nice having some adult-only time. (But don't worry, my kids are just fine playing video games at
Oceaneer Club and definitely don't feel like they are missing out.) We actually prefer a brunch at Palo, so as not to interfere with the nightly themed dining rotations we love so much. Might be something you'd like to consider!
I hope this information has been helpful in your planning, Carole, and I sincerely wish you the most magical voyage! Yo ho, Yo ho - it's Pirate Night for me! ARRR!
