Hi Sheniqua,
Welcome to planDisney!
It sounds like you are inquiring about becoming an
Annual Passholder with the Walt Disney World Resort. Although Annual Pass sales are paused right now, I can share the benefits of being an Annual Passholder. My family decided that since we travel at least twice per year and typically stay at least five nights, Annual Passes help us save money on park admission. Plus, we considered the value of having our digital PhotoPass photos included as well as being able to take advantage of the
dining and
merchandise discounts.
We decided to purchase Disney Platinum Passes because we did not want to have to worry about blockout dates. Since we love to travel the week before the Christmas holiday, we knew we needed a pass that would allow us admission on those dates. Check the
blockout date calendar to see which passes include blockout dates. Now, we can also add a few more trips because we have the Annual Passes, so we have loved having the flexibility with travel.
Since reopening, we have been regularly following the operational updates, paying attention to the
Annual Pass updates. Prior to our most recent visit, I calculated the potential savings we would have on meals using the discount and it was several hundred dollars. And since my husband is always on the lookout for our next set of matching shirts, he enjoys using the discount while shopping.
If Annual Pass sales do not resume in time for your visit, I suggest that you put a deposit down on a
vacation package with theme park tickets. You can use those tickets to make your
Disney Park Pass system reservations. If Annual Pass sales resume prior to the date you would need to cancel that vacation package without cancellation penalties, you could potentially modify to a room-only reservation and use your Annual Passes for admission. If you go this route, be sure to carefully review the cancellation procedures and penalties when you make that reservation. And note that if you book your vacation with a third-party vendor or travel agent, they may have separate cancellation policies and/or fees associated with cancelling or modifying bookings.
Sheniqua, now back to the fun part. Keep planning that trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! We are thrilled to welcome you soon to a world of magic!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
