My window for dining reservations will be opening in a few weeks and right now I still have 3 family members who are unsure if they are going to go. Do I have any wiggle room with my numbers when I reserve or how do I handle 3 maybes?

    Hi Mitzi,

I've been in this situation a number of times: You want to be sure you get a reservation at your favorite Walt Disney World restaurant, but you don't have a firm commitment from all of your potential dining companions. So what to do?

Since it's always easier to reduce the number of diners on an advance dining reservation than it is to increase the number, especially at the really popular restaurants, I make reservation for the maximum number of guests I expect. Then, as the time gets closer, I go into My Disney Experience and adjust the number if necessary.

You simply call up the reservation and hit "Modify." You can adjust the number of guests there. I'm about to do that now for a reservation I made in November for an April visit with extended family; one person I expected isn't joining us after all.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Mitzi. Please let us know if you have any other questions or if we can help with recommendations for Disney dining. There are so many new taste experiences across Walt Disney World these days. It's hard to choose a favorite!

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
