Hello Wilma, My wife & I are having dinner at Raglan Road on 01/30/14. I have had either shepherd's pie or fish & chips many times, but this time I want to try something else. Can you suggest something from the menu? Thanks

    Hi Edward,

Nice to hear from you again! Like you, my husband has a soft spot for the Raglan Road shepherd's pie, and I have a hard time resisting the fish and chips. But we do occasionally branch out, and there are a couple of dishes we've enjoyed that we think you might like to try.

First, the crock o' pate appetizer. Sometimes, we drop into Raglan Road and sit at the bar, just to have an adult beverage and that yummy crock of chicken liver pate. Even the non-liver lovers in my family think it's tasty. I really like the beer battered onion rings, too, and I consider myself an onion ring expert.

I'm also a fan of bangers and mash, one of my frequent choices at the other Disney pub, Rose and Crown in Epcot. At Raglan Road, the Bangers & Booz are topped with a beef stew in addition to caramelized onions. It's an interesting variation, especially for a winter dinner.

My hubby also has enjoyed the braised beef with the horseradish mashed potatoes. And my friend Joe, who eats there often, says he's never gone wrong with any of the salads.

I have a dessert recommendation as well. I love Ger's bread and butter pudding. It was what I chose for my 50th birthday "cake," complete with candle. The sauce is amazing.

I hope that gives you a few ideas for new tastes of Ireland. Enjoy your return visit to Raglan Road!
