Hello Wilma, My family & I will be in the Magic Kingdom on Fri., 09/06/13. Coincidentally, this is also when the "Night of Joy" is taking place. Can you tell me the estimated crowds during the day? Thanks, 49 days til WDW!

    Hi Edward,

Nice to hear from you again. I'm happy to answer your question.

The first evening of the Night of Joy Christian music festival is September 6 at Magic Kingdom, but I don't expect that to significantly increase the crowds at the park during the day. Night of Joy is a separate ticket event. Groups who have purchased tickets can enter as early as 4 p.m., and individuals with Night of Joy tickets are admitted at 7 p.m., park closing time.

As you know, crowd levels at Walt Disney World drop off dramatically after Labor Day. Unofficial sites that predict crowd levels expect that to be a very light day at Magic Kingdom prior to the concerts.

My family frequently plans our September Disney visit for that second weekend of the month simply because the crowds traditionally tend to be low, even though Night of Joy is going on. I think you will find the crowd level quite enjoyable.

Just one note: Since Magic Kingdom will close to regular guests at 7 p.m. that day, I'd suggest that you try to arrive at or before the park opens, just so you can squeeze in every minute of fun.

Please let me know, Edward, if I can help further. September will be here before you know it. Enjoy!
