Hi Wilma - This summer we have two extra days to add to a trip to BLT. Do you recommend Art of Animation or Polynesian? It's me, my wife, and our eight year old daughter. Would you add the extra days to the beginning or the end of the trip? Thank you.

Thanks for your question, Joseph! I brought in my husband and 14-year-old daughter to confer on this one and we agreed that we would opt for the Art of Animation.

The Polynesian is one of the few Disney hotels we haven't stayed in (it's on our list for this year), but we have spent a great deal of time there eating in the restaurants, watching football in the Tambu Lounge, shopping and enjoying a Dole Whip by the pool. We love the atmosphere and proximity to the Magic Kingdom.

But you will get that same proximity during your stay at Bay Lake Tower, and you will have had the chance to spend time at the Polynesian if you choose.

The Art of Animation is a completely different experience. The attention to detail in the family suites and the outdoor areas is amazing. It's as if you stepped right into one of the films. We think that would appeal to your 8-year-old and probably to you, too.

We have stayed in the Cars family suite which, honestly, was a huge hit with my husband. I think he took pictures of every Cars character we encountered along the route from our room to Animation Hall. So I suggest choosing a suite based on your favorite movie: Cars, The Lion King or Finding Nemo.

The Big Blue Pool is so well-done. It is the largest pool on the Disney property. My favorite touch is that you can hear the music under the water.

Whether you do Art of Animation at the end or beginning of your trip, I think, depends on whether you want to ease into your vacation or ease out.

Because Art of Animation is a new experience -- and farther from some of the parks than you may be accustomed to if you normally stay at one of the monorail hotels -- I suspect you will want to spend most of your two days there exploring the pools and relaxing, rather than going to parks.

I hope that helps. Enjoy your time at Disney with our family, and let me know if I can answer any other questions
