Have a Q about the Wilderness Lodge and being the flag family. We will be there 12/16, but we r staying at the Villas. Can we still inquire about being the flag family? What are the odds of getting chosen? Just curious. ;)

    Hi Michelle,

I have always dreamed of my family being chosen as the flag family at Disney's Wilderness Lodge!  My friend, Disney Moms Panel Sue, has shared with me the stunning photographs she took atop the lodge when her family served as flag family.  I think raising the flags with one of the resort's rangers would be a great privilege.

Families who stay in the Villas portion of the resort are eligible to be flag family.  However, as you would imagine, it is very difficult to be chosen.  Since only one family can participate each day, only a small percentage of guests ever get the chance.  To increase the chances of being selected, be sure to ask at the check-in desk on the day you arrive if the flag family position is open for any day during your vacation.  Being flexible in your schedule will be important if the unique opportunity presents itself.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you will be standing atop Disney's Wilderness Lodge later this month!

    Best wishes,
    Jill
