Wilderness Lodge or AKL- two small babies 7 mo and 2yo. Which would be more suitable and convenient for children this young?

    Hi Laura:

Two reactions: (1) you can't go wrong with either Resort, and (2) some Disney Moms who have weighed in on the Animal Kingdom Lodge vs Wilderness Lodge debate ultimately recommend Wilderness Lodge.

My view is normally a bit different. My family's favorite Resort is the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm partial to the benefits and amenities of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, such as the savanna views, the fine dining, and the unique kid and family activities.  However, the Resort is sliiiightly further away from three of the parks than many other Disney properties. Many folks feel that Wilderness Lodge's proximity to Magic Kingdom to be a huge plus over Animal Kingdom Lodge's location. That being said, for me, the benefits of the AKL outweigh the extra minutes we may spend on the bus.  However,  because of the ages of your children, you'll likely spend a lot of time at Magic Kingdom, which is great for young kids.  At Wilderness Lodge, you are just a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom.  While your children may appreciate and be fascinated by the animals at Animal Kingdom Lodge,  they may appreciate being closer to Magic Kigndom more.  So I'd give the slight edge to Wilderness Lodge.

    Enjoy your vacation.
