Are the Ft Wilderness cabins located all in the same area or scattered about? What sections will I find them in? traveling with my 88 year old Mom and want to keep down the walking. Thanks!!

Welcome to the Moms Panel, Ruth. Thanks for coming to us with your question. How exciting to be planning a trip with your Mom to Walt Disney World!  Within the Fort Wilderness Resort, there are many loops which contain the Wilderness Cabins and campsites.  The Cabins are scattered a bit among several loops.  To keep the walking to a minimum with your Mom, you may want to stay in a loop near the Settlement Trading Post.  For cabins closest to the center of the Resort,  you will want to request to be in loop 2100.  Keep in mind that Fort Wilderness is a very large resort area.  You might consider renting an electric golf cart.  They can be rented by the day or by the week.  The rental will cost you around $60 per day, and reservations are taken up to one year in advance.  If that is not an option for you,  there are internal buses that run within Fort Wilderness.  They can take you virtually anywhere within the campground you would like to go.  Bus waits can be up to 20 minutes or more, so do keep that in mind.

Let us know if we can help you again with your planning, Ruth.

I wish you a MAGICAL vacation!
