Hi there, Genevieve - welcome back to planDisney! It's great to see you again. I've been hoping my
last answer for you was helpful as you're planning for your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I'm happy to take a walk on the wild side with you and chat about the ins and outs of
Wild Africa Trek - let's get right to it!
I completely appreciate where your pal is coming from! I am not great with heights, and there are certain experiences that I opt out of when we visit Walt Disney World for that reason. However, Wild Africa Trek has been fine for me in the past! Although Guests do have to navigate a wooden bridge, everyone is required to wear a safety harness, which is attached to a sturdy cable overhead. The bridges also have handrails to guide you along the way. Having those supports in place made all the difference for me to feel safe and secure so that I could just enjoy this one-of-a-kind adventure!
There is a great video overview of Wild Africa Trek that my planDisney friends Jenna and Donyell made earlier this year that I'll be sure to link in this answer. I definitely recommend that your friend take a look at it to get a sense of how the tour works.
Genevieve, keep in mind that Wild Africa Trek is part of the
Enchanting Extras collection and can be booked 60 days in advance for Guests staying in a Disney Collection
Resort Hotel. It's a good idea to book early, as this is a popular experience and reservations may be hard to come by!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney again, friend! We're here to help if you need any other information before your January trip "Home".
Stay Magical!
Susan
