How does WiFi work on the Dream? I see that we need to download the app before we get on the boat, but do we get free WiFi while on board so that app doesn’t cost us a fortune?

    Hi there, Jennifer!

Ahoy and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Your Disney Cruise Line vacation is JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!!!  How excited are you?!?!  So much fun awaits you onboard the B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L Disney Dream as you head to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay for an adventure with Captain Mickey!

I am glad you have heard about the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and hopefully you’ve had a chance to download it to your smartphones!  If not, definitely do so before your voyage begins because on it you will find so much useful information such as a full schedule of activities and entertainment, menus, deck plans, port information and so much more!  One of my favorite features on it is that you can “like” an activity and then you will receive a reminder about it as it approaches so you don’t miss out on the fun!  Additionally, if you see an activity that is of interest to you (or your Mouseketeers), you can also see the other time(s) it is offered onboard.  Oh, and if you are like me and inevitably end up doing at least one load of laundry while onboard, you will get a notification that your washing machine and/or dryer are done!  Such a useful app that you will love navigating through once onboard!  And, best news is…you don’t need an Internet package to use it!  It is free to use onboard; all you will need to do is connect to the DCL-GUEST network onboard and you will be good to go!  I always recommend putting your phone on “airplane mode” to ensure that you aren’t mistakenly connecting to any sort of roaming cell tower, but you can still access all of the features of the app!

If you do need Internet while onboard, you will need to purchase a Connect@Sea package to access.  Currently, the pricing ranges from $19 - $89, depending on how much data you purchase and use while onboard.  You will find information in your stateroom about the different packages and there will also be a Connect@Sea representative onboard that you can visit with to learn more!  But, one of the best things about heading to sea is that you can truly disconnect; although I know that is not always possible for all Guests (my husband included), so having access to Internet packages is a necessity!

Have just the best time and say hi to Captain Mickey for me!

    Happy Sailing!
