What's the wifi packages when take 5-nights Baja Cruise from San Diego? and will it be good enough for zoom meetings? thanks!

    Welcome Yamei!

Your fabulous Disney Cruise Line vacation is nearly here! How exciting to be sailing aboard the beautiful Disney Wonder from the gorgeous port of San Diego, California to sunny Mexico. While I love to be unplugged on a cruise, I do understand the realities of needing connectivity onboard. I have all the details for you to plan ahead and know what to expect so that you can keep in touch or stay productive on your trip.

This is a great clarifying question, because the Disney Wonder has a different Connect @ Sea Internet package structure to purchase than the other ships in the fleet. You purchase a package once onboard, and you can share that data across your devices. If you use up all the data included before your 5-night voyage is over, you can purchase another. Please know prices are subject to change, as the ship is transitioning to a new system, but the current rates on the Disney Wonder are:

    • Small: 100 MB, $19
    • Medium: 300 MB, $39
    • Large: 1,000 MB, $89

The other four Disney ships' Internet packages have rates by the day, not by the total data amount.

Yes, the Internet connectivity onboard will enable you to join a video call such as a Zoom meeting – no need to send a message in a bottle to stay in touch! Please know that this technology works via satellite connection so it can potentially go out of range. There are many quiet places onboard to hide away for these calls. I recommend Cove Café, an adults-only space with delicious coffee creations and alcoholic beverages for purchase and complimentary snacks throughout the day. This is an isolated area but still allows you to see the beautiful sea and hopefully have a strong connection for your call.

I also recommend you pack your computer in your carry-on bag for embarkation and debarkation days. The crew works so hard to get our luggage safely onboard and to our staterooms quickly, but your technology is most protected when stowed away in your hand-carried bag.

I hope with your video call commitments you can still make time for some of the incredible onboard experiences, Yamei. My family loves Disney trivia games, time in the sunshine at the pools, or strolling along deck 4 for a shaded panoramic view of the ocean.

    Bon voyage,
    Amy
