Ahoy there, David, and thanks for sailing by planDisney! It is always a treat to help a fellow Tennessee traveler get ready for a magical voyage at sea.
One of the best tips I can share is to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before embarkation day. It will help you get organized beforehand, and once you step onboard, you can connect to the complimentary DCL-GUEST WiFi to access your daily activity schedules, dining rotation, and entertainment lineup right from your phone. This connection is free to use as long as you are only accessing the Navigator app.
If you would like to go beyond that and post to social media, check email, or hop on a Zoom call while at sea, you will need to
purchase an internet package. After boarding, simply open the Navigator app and select the internet option, and you will be directed to a browser where you can view and purchase the package that best fits your needs.
For staying connected on the ship, the Navigator app’s built-in chat feature is perfect. And if you want to check in with friends or family back home, you can use messaging apps like iMessage or WhatsApp at no additional charge. When I want to share a little real-time magic from the ship, I often use FaceTime or Messenger to show off a fireworks burst or a beautiful sunset from my verandah.
I hope this helps you feel prepared and connected as you get ready to set sail, David. If any more questions emerge before your cruise, I hope you will sail back to see us here at
planDisney!
SEA ya real soon,
Sami
